What do you mean? Nothing happen. LaCroix drank some bad blood and had hallucinations brought on by the bacteria battling the vampire element in his system. Once it clears he'll discover nothing happened. :-) |

Nick's gone? Oh, sure, to the grocery store, maybe, but he'll be back in a few minutes. I suppose LaCroix might spend the time reading a parenting magazine. |

Well, I think that Lacroix would fly off to find Janette. Of course, I don't believe for a second that Nick has gone anywhere! |
Susan E. Nix
I think Nunk...er...Lacroix will have lots to do after Nicky's gone. He'll probably leave
Toronto, get a duplex in Boise, and settled into the tire sales business. When he gets bored
with that, he'll go on a trip around the world and eventually go into medicine and find a
cure for the heartbreak of psoriasis and win the Nobel Prize. Then the apocalypse will happen,
and dinosaurs will come back and rule the Earth, then man will eventually tame them and we
will see the bond between man and lizard. Then, a previously unkown race of Gopher People, who have lived beneath the earth for centuries will come to the surface and trade with the surfacers for light bulbs and Mr. Pibb. Lacroix will live among these Gopheroids and eventually will lead an army of them to take over the Earth. They succeed and turn all of North America into The United States of Lacroix. Then Screed will come back to life and he and LC will get married and they'll all live happily ever after. The End. Sounds totally logical to me. |

Nick is not gone. If Nick were gone, I think LaCroix might turn into a REAL monster for a few centuries. Sort of like a tantrum. Then maybe Janette could calm him down, and they would try to find a new person to adopt into the family. Someone else who was a challenge to them both, to help alleviate the sometimes boredom of immortality. Though, I don't think anyone could ever replace Nick as LaCroix's favorite child. But, as I said Nick is not gone, so its all moot. |
Amanda Berendt
Nick's gone!?!?!? You can't prove that!!! We never saw it happen, so it didn't. So since nothing happened, life (or "unlife") will go on as usual. |

I'm in denial, He's not Gone. |

The demonic, sometimes feral LaCroix of the first two seasons would go out and find another
victim--and probably treat him/her far worse than he ever treated Janette or Nicholas. But the LaCroix of season three, especially if you accept (sob!) the last episodes, seemed to be a man who was reluctantly discovering the possibility that he actually might still have a heart -- and even a soul. I think he would leave Toronto and go somewhere to reaffirm his vampirism (as Janette said she did, when she explains her abrupt departure to Nick in "Human Factor"). Having sympathies with Light Cousins, I would like to think that he would fail in that attempt, and that "Last Knight" would be the same kind of seminal moment in LaCroix's life that the encounter with Jeanne d'Arc was for Nick. |

Assuming Nick was gone, I think Lacroix would search for another poor, dissillusioned soul to bring across and torment for the next 800 years. |
Scott Stevens
Geeeeeeee well, sinced I'm still pretty steamed about what he did to Nick's dog, I would hope that he would visit chernobyl and expose himself to the reactor core. Let's see if his vampire metabolism can handle his DNA being rewritten shall we? |
Trick Cyclist
LaCroix and Nick are together. LaCroix did not kill Nick, merely disabled him and took him away with him...as he always planned to do on that "Last Knight." They are living together very comfortably somewhere and their relationship has become quite loving and intense! We will eventually hear from them again. |

Hard to say. If you believe the way the story line went (and I know a lot of us don't), then Lacroix is pretty much alone in the world. The only other character left seems to be Reese, but they aren't very connected. I'm pretty sure Lacroix would move on. Toronto seems to be full of bad memories for him. The death (maybe) of Janette, his daughter, Divia, and, of course, his son. He'll probably take some memorable trinkets of Nick's and maybe the Caddy (I would) and start a new life. I don't think he would get a new son right away. The relationship between Lacroix and Nick was very special and can not be easily replaced. |
Foreverkngt
He will move on, however he will search for another son with Nick's qualities!!! |
Wilma
IF Nick is gone, LaCroix will move on. He lived about 1150 years without Nick to begin with and I'm sure he can find a way to go on without him. He might even go out and find Janette. He has all the time in the world and the money to do whatever he wants. Nick was just another chapter in LaCroix's long life. |
Debi Ackert
I do not think that Nick is gone. Lacroix is way too arrogant to destroy his son. Especially so that he could go off into the "spirit" world with Natalie, a mere mortal. Lacroix could not control Nick, and would never give him the peace he so wanted. Who, then, would have been left for Lacroix to tease for all eternity if not Nick. Nick's hatred for Lacroix probably knows no bounds, now that Natalie died and Lacroix failed in Nick's last request. But Lacroix's joy is probably limitless at his conquest. |

What parents do when they loose a child. Become morose, writhe in guilt and abject misery and either wither away or get on with it, a little sadder, a little wiser. Seriously. That's what happened when Aunty Mary's brother passed away. Can anyone imagine LC any other way? He might look for another child, but he will never find one like Nick. The new ones will have the same imperfections as Nick but LC will only remember the best of Nick so no one else will be able to live up to that image. |
Jacky Wainwright
Given the very passionate relationship between the two I'm not convinced that Nick is gone. After all, if Lacroix can come back you would tend to think that he has the power to enliven Nick. Well, one can only hope. |

Since my background is in theatre, I'd vote for an answer with the most drama. I imagine a police officer, someone who reminds LaCroix of Nick and Janette and even Natalie. This person (let's give her a name--Chelsea van Horn--and cast someone, like Megan Gallagher) suddenly finds a new "source" and helper in her work. After a little while, she learns this strange man is more than a man. He saves her life, in effect taunting her with a knowledge she can do nothing with. Who would believe her that vampires are real? Besides this... Nightcrawler, as he calls himself... is teaching her about the very darkness she needs to understand to be a successful homicide detective. After a time, genuine friendship of a kind develops between them. LaCroix vows he will see Chelsea *ask* to be brought across, while she pledges he will someday see the value of her choice to remain human. All this against the backdrop of tracking down dangerous killers a al "Silence of the Lambs," "Seven" or "No Way to Treat a Lady." That's how I like to think of it, anyway... |

Nick is not gone. Last Knight was a guilt-induced dream. However, if Nick really were gone, there's a really good story that answers this question, called "Blood on My Hands And It Tastes Like Family". It's by Gehirn Karies, and it's on the fan fiction web page. |
sp00ky girl
First off, Nick is NOT dead. LC brought Nat across, unstaked Nick, and sat them both down for
a nice, long talk. I firmly believe this. However, if Nick _were_ gone, (Which he isn't.) I could see LaCroix... um... moving to New Orleans and becoming a rock star.... or living on a street populated by muppets and developing a habit of counting random objects... or moving to a small village in Romania and terrorizing the population. ...or maybe a guest appearance on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". ;) |
Navidia
What an interesting question! I think that Lacroix is going to do something evil and twisted. He could do some "soul-searching" but then he would have to "live" will all of the guilt that he has pushed away for so long. I think that he will probably make some new children to torment. |
Anna Champ
I can't give a direct answer to this week's question, since I, also, don't believe that Nick
is "gone". The ending of Forever Knight was a traumatic event for me, as well as for many
others. At first I believed that Lacroix had actually staked Nick and ended his existence,
but the more I thought about it, the less I could accept that scenario. My idea, (and I would write it up a story, if I could write fiction) would be that LC staked Nick enough to disable him, then he relocated Nick and himself to another place. Natalie is dead, (sorry to all the Nat-lovers) and LC has Nick to win over again, which he thinks will be easier with Nick in a weakened state. It's just my take on this. I couldn't let Nick go. |
Bob
I believe that LaCroix will "move on" to another area; seeing his most beloved protege' bite the dust will be too much or him and he'll want to find something else. Maybe he'll make another... |
Wendy
If Nick were gone, though I do not believe that he or Natalie died, I think LaCroix would possibly feel depressed for a long time. Nick was his favorite child. I think LaCroix would try to find Janette and re-establish a relationship with her, seeing as Janette would be "orphaned". The two would then move on, missing Nick, but perhaps one day, look for a substitute... I will not say replacement, because Nick, for Janette and LaCroix could never be replaced. But perhaps with a new fledgling, LaCroix could wipe the slate clean of his parental failings and try to improve. Or, he could simply be blind to his faults, and smother the new child, too, while Janette once again referees! *g* But I still say that Nick and Nat lived, so this answer is irrelevant! |
Watcher
Exactly because from what I've seen I am not sure there's a lot for him to do once Nick's gone (well, there *are* things to do, it's just that LC might not be interested anymore), I am not so sure that Nick *is* actually gone. If the series are to continue in any form, that is. |
A Devoted Fan
LaCroix will continue as he always has. Sullen, cool and proud of what he is. But he will miss Nicholas, thus making him more like Nick. He may turn over a new leaf... or wipe the dust from the old one. |
Danielle Goldstein
How can you say Nick is gone? We don't know! I am an optomist and trying to get the show back on. THINK POSITIVE!!! |
Nic
I think that Lacroix will do some serious soul searching (if you can believe that he has a soul). is favourite offspring is now dead and he doesn't have anyone to antagonize anymore. I do believe though that Lacroix was truly attached to Nick in a way that can be considered parental love. I see Lacroix turning to Janette for assistance because she is his only child remaining. I also see Lacroix becoming a recluse, hiding deep in the vampire world, far away from the mortal world that will surely carry reminders of his beloved son Nick. |
Reva
I think Lacroix will mourn the loss of his beloved son for the rest of his life. I think he will continue to live but not with the same passion for life he had when Nicholas was around. |
Anne Sampson
I agree with many others: Nick is not gone. We did not see him killed, nor did we actually see Natalie die. LaCroix temporarily disabled Nick and began the process of bringing Natalie across. Think of the conflict! Now she is LaCroix's child. And what's more, she finds she enjoys her vampire nature, much to Nick's chagrin. Their roles become reversed: Natalie, enchanted with her exploration of her new world, while Nick tries to hold her back, saying 'Don't go there.' Imagine LaCroix's glee as he observes this new twist. Nick's resentment of LaCroix will reach new heights, and Natalie will torn be between her love for Nick and her bond with her maker. And as for the quest for mortality, who will be Nick's human guide now? LaCroix has, yet again, sent him back to square one. (Credit Crimsonet with this scenario) |

Nick is not, not, and I repeat NOT gone. But, if he were gone, Lacroix would probably go to Walt Disney World. Where else? |
Karen
Nick's gone??? Where? When did he go? I missed that somewhere. The last ep I saw, Nick asked Lacroix to plunge a stick into him as he bent over Natalie. But Lacroix missed. The sun came up and we're still waiting for the next episode. What a cliffhanger!! |
Deborah Pentland
There are three answers I could give you depending on how it really turned out.
|
Julian Luna
I think that he will definatly just move on... perhaps look for another to create, or go back to Rome. |
Tracy Noele Vetter
I think LaCroix will close the Raven and leave Toronto as soon as possible. After what Divia did, this loss is just too much, even for him. Do vampires have nervous breakdowns? |
