I think I would have changed the ending to "Dark Night: The Second Chapter".
The museum curator, Dr. Alyce Hunter, who has by now figured out that Nick is
not as young as he looks, has taken more than a romantic interest in him. She
is intrigued by what he is, and what he can offer. Dr. Hunter lives in the
past and for the past, because she is an archaeologist. The fact that Nick has
actually lived through the time periods she can only study intrigues her. In the movie [with Rick Springfield] Dr. Hunter is killed; in the FK show, she's turned into a vampire. I'd rewrite it so that she is not harmed - she remains a mortal who suspects Nick is a vampire. I'd make her a recurring character who's interest in Nick is both academic and romantic [creating a little competition for Natalie]. Dr. Hunter would not be interested in proving Nick is a vampire, but rather in hearing first-hand how history actually transpired. Think of all the great discussions she and Nick could have about the archaeological sites he had actually been to, most of which she's only read about. They share a certain intellectual ground in that he can also read the ancient writings on the stones from Egyptian and/or Mayan ruins. This scenario could also tie into Vachon's introduction in the third season, who afterall, was a Spanish soldier out to conquer the Mayans, but was turned into a vampire instead. What an interesting storyline this could be. |

Of course I'd choose to rewrite Last Knight's ending and have done so several times in fanfic, but excluding that episode, the one tag that comes to mind is Let No Man Tear Asunder. I'd NOT let Nat duck when Nick moves to kiss her. I'd let them have a looong kiss. To me it's always been so obvious in this particular episode that Nick loves Nat because I'd never seen him so angry. When the operating room team was about to kill Nat and Nick flies in to save her, I thought he was going to rip off the surgeon's head he was so angry! That whole 'knees scene' is cute and gives some indication of his feelings for her, but to have added a kiss at the end would have been even better. |

I think it would have to be BMV. The ending of this ep. where Nick let Nat forget about what happened, really made me see red. If I could rewrite it, I would have never let Nat forget, and I would have made Nick deal with the problem, rather than running from it. |

In response to the question, I'd have to say that I would have changed the ending of "Only the Lonely." After everything that Nat goes through in the episode and after wanting Nick to finally express his feelings for her after so long, she becomes distant at the ending... just when Nick seems like he might be willing to open up to her! It seemed like she could have used the moment to finally confirm their feelings for each other. Then again, she could have been giving him a taste of his own medicine (the birthday card signed: "with affection.") I would have liked to have seen it be a beginning again for Nick and Nat. Oh well... |

"Be My Valentine". Although I consider it one of my favorite episodes, there is no way in the world Natalie could forgot what happened to her at Azure. That could have been handled better, such as, Nat just drop kicking him in the groin. The end. |

I think I would rewrite the ending of Be My Valentine. I would have Natalie remember Nick's declaration of his feelings for her. |

There are a few of episodes I would like to change the ending to. First of all,
in "Father Figure" I would like to find out what happened to the child vampire,
Daniel. I suspect Nick probably staked him to put him "out of his misery."
Undoubtedly Janette would have been quite upset about it, but I don't think
LaCroix would care what happened to the boy. In fact, it's quite possible he
would be pleased to have once again shaken up Nick so badly. Perhaps even to
have anticipated such an outcome. The second episode I would change the ending to is "Love you to Death." I know all you cousins will hate me for this, but I would never have brought LaCroix back. Yes, yes, he makes for such wonderful conflict between Nick and himself, but I've never cared for the character much. There's a little *too* much conflict IMHO. I think Nick should have had his chance to be free from such a domineering master and only had to interact with him in his flashbacks, as in the first season. Of course, seasons 2 and 3 would have been totally different, but hey I could have lived with it. :) The last ending change I would make for season 1 is in "Only the Lonely." Actually, I'd change a couple things about it. First, Nick and Nat *would* have kissed in that scene towards the end. Earlier, when he was explaining how he had 'realized something', it was obvious she was hoping he would tell her that he loved her, and she was quite irritated when he would only say that if he wasn't careful, he'd get in the way of her happiness. Definately *not* what she wanted to hear. The other thing I would change would be to *have* Natalie meet Lionel, the (quite attractive) blind date Myra was trying to set up for her. Let her tell him to his *face* that he's probably an alien from outerspace. (I know a couple FBI agents who'd be interested ;) |

I would change the ending to Close Call. I think Schanke should have been allowed to find out about Nick. I also hated the bit where Schanke went off to wash Nick's car, as he had been told to by Nick earlier in the episode. Nick showed little regard for Schanke in this. Telling him to forget what he saw was one thing. Telling him to wash his car while he was at it, was really low. |

I could answer this for so many episodes but most of all it would be for "My Boyfriend is a Vampire. No way in Hell would I have Natalie forgive Nick so easily. A note and flowers no matter what the note said would change my mind especially if I was as mad as Natalie was in that episode. |

Now that I know more about FK, I'd like to change the ending of the very first episode I ever saw. In "A More Permanent Hell," after killing Spark who was about to kill Nat, it appeared as if Nick stayed at Nat's apartment for the entire night, although you never know just what they did!! But then the next day, he left just before daybreak (as she was sleeping). Nat was extremely cold and remote the next day and oh so disappointed that he hadn't stayed to spend the day with her. They had been so very close the night before as she begged him to bring her across because they thought the world was ending. I would have liked to have seen a more tender scene between these two at the end. Perhaps they could have sat down together to gently struggle through the events of the previous few days. |

I would rewrire Ashes to Ashes... and make Vachon remain alive... and at the very end show some kind of clue that Divia was still around... something to give some kind of suspence. |

I would have liked to see a different ending to "The Human Factor". Nat should
have stood up to Nick right then and let him know that she would not accept his
unilateral decision on trying Janette's cure. This could have allowed them to
try lovemaking with out the overload of other emotions that occured in "Last
Knight". Of course, this idea would have worked a lot better if there were a
televised fourth seaon (thank goodness for the V4S!) and there would never have
been a "Last Knight". I'm still in denial on that one! It could have given viewers a lot more satisfaction in the resolution of the Nick/Nat relationship. Besides, who wouldn't want to see Nat explaining those marks on her neck to a very observant Tracy! |

In the ep "Dead of Night", I started thinking that if Nick could see the spirit of his wife, then maybe LC could have gone there to see Fleur. I would have been very interesting to see what would happen if LC was able to talk to her and see her after *so* many years. Of course, he'd have to make sure he didn't run into any angry spirits that were his "meals" from long ago as Nick did. Of course it could have been fun to see how he would have handled *that* situation... |

There are actually two episodes that are just crying for repair. The first being Human Factor. In this episode Janette would have been mortal and would be shot, but Nick would get her to Natalie in time to be saved. At the very end Janette would consider being a vampire again, but only after a couple more years of being in the sun. Last Knight (as I'm sure is the case with most people) is another one that needs our help. Tracy would make it through (just so our fanged hero won't feel guilty even more guilty than he already does). When Natalie and Nick are together Nick will take too much, but not enough to kill her. Just enough to cause her to fall unconscience and realize that perhaps Nick needs to become mortal before they can be together. And then Nick would never want to die. |

Ashes to Ashes. We had only had Vachon and Tracy for one season, and they were just starting to admit how they felt about each other. It really wasn't fair to kill Vachon off then, and we all know that they got Tracy shot in LK just to get rid of her now that Vachon is gone. If I was rewriting I would have neither of those things happen. |

If I could rewrite the ending to an episode it would deffinately be 'BE MY VALENTINE'. I loved this episode but was sorly disappointed with the ending. It's obvious to any one with eyes that Nick and Nat love each other maddly. The only thing that stands in their way is their fear, mainly Nick's. I was so happy to see the characters (and the writers) finally deal with the romantic relationship between Nick and Natalie, finally see them confess their love for each other so you can imagine how angry the ending made me. I love Nick to death but I am deffinately a Natpacker and their has been several times, ONLY THE LONELY, MY BOYFRIEND IS A VAMPIRE just to name a few, when the cowardly way Nick acted, the total disregard for Nat's feelings really ticked me off. BE MY VALENTINE was the ultimate betrayal, the ultimate lack of courage on Nick's part if you ask me. Sure, sure I know what your thinking what about LaCroix's threat but come on Nick could have found some way to deal with the ramifecations of expressing his love for Nat and excepting her love he was just too scared and not of what LaCroix might do. Nick can rationalize it all he wants and make a million excuses for his actions but when it comes down to it he only hypnotized her so that he wouldn't have to face his feelings. Relationships are tough and a relationship between him and Nat would be even tougher then others do to the many obsticals most people don't have to face but that didn't mean he should stick his tail between his legs and run from it. Also he had no right to take her memory of that night and what was said from her even if he thought he was helping her. He should have let her remember and make her own choices accordingly. If I could have ended it I would have had Natalie keep her memory and she and Nick would have agreed that they should go slowly but deal with their feelings, take their relationship to a higher level, moved on so to speak as oppossed to staying at a stand still. The writers of the show could have done so much with these two but perhaps it was fear that held them back to. If 'BE MY VALENTINE' had ended diffrently, the way it should have ended, then ultimately 'LAST KNIGHT' would have ended diffrently. It might have even had a happy ending for Nick and Nat, something they both deserved. |

I would change the end of "Ashes to Ashes". I would prevent Vachon from dying... I'm not sure how yet, but gosh darn it, I liked him! |

I just read the answer Star Allan put and I totally agree. That could of been me writing that. |

I would have changed the ending of the flashback part of Be My Valentine so Lacroix respected Fleur's wishes instead of knuckling under to Nick's emotional blackmail. Okay, so having Fleur around as a stabilizing influence would have undermined everything Lacroix had done to date continuity-wise, but since when have TPTB cared about continuity? (Janette's lack of fledglings--wait, no there was that Baroness, and Nick knew about her, so why did he ask?--springs to mind.) IMHO, the old guy deserves a little happiness once in a while. |
