I think captain Joe Reese was the best, he was supportive, he believed in both
Tracy and Nick, that they were great detectives. |

I have to say I liked Capt. Stonetree the best. Gary Farmer is such a great
actor. He brought so much strangeness and compassion to his character.
Stonetree is just one of those really cool, kind of "out there" sorts of people.
He could come up with some of the weirdest things to say. I just loved him.
He's the sort of person I'd like to have as a friend. Very human. |

I prefer Capt. Cohen. This is not because she is female, but she just seemed
the most business-like. And I guess her being in shape physically had something
to do with it as well. She looked like she could still work the streets if she
had to. The other two looked like they had spent *too* much time behind the
desk, if you know what I mean. |

I've got to say I liked Stonetree the best. I liked the way he handled Nick,
for one thing. There seemed to be a genuine trust and understanding between
them. He seemed to know how to motivate Nick. Stonetree seemed to trust Nick's
instincts for when there was a difference of opinion, Stonetree let Nick do
things his own way.
Beyond the way the characters were written, I really like Gary Farmer. His low key style is pleasing to me and I like the idea of a Native North American in a leadership role. I live and work in Oklahoma and have the great pleasure to interact with many Native American peoples. I find their culture and views wonderfully rich with tradition and wisdom. Since you asked, that's my response. :) |

Stonetree gets my vote for three reasons:
|
Ken K. Kapoor
I liked Cohen the best. First of all, Stonetree was a COMPLETE SNOOOOOORE!!!! I
mean, he pretty much has the same expression for all of Season 1 (kinda like
Richard Gere in "Pretty Woman"). As for Reese, he was interesting in "Black
Buddha", but he's also pretty boring for the rest of the series. Sure, Cohen
wasn't exactly "Ms. Excitement" either, but at least she WAS a refreshingly new
presence in the show (the fact that she's a woman, Japanese, and not 2,000
pounds). |

I prefer Captain Reese. The actress that portayed Cohen was so expressionless.
She had the same emotion for every situation. It got old after a while. At
least with Captain Reese he shows a little bit of anger, happiness, empathy,
etc., and I just believe that he is a much better actor. I don't remember the
captain from the first season very well, so I have to say for me Reese was the
best. |

Since I have only seen the 3rd season, I have to say Captain Reese.
I like Captain Reese better than any of the three captains because he has the
most personality. Capt. Stonetree and Capt. Cohen were too stiff for me.
Captain Reese really looks out for Nick and Tracey. Besides, he looks like a
lot of fun to work with and when necessary, to talk to. |

My sister and I think that we liked the woman better because she was nice and
a good captain. Well we have to go now By BY. |
Courtney Clemmons
I liked captain Cohen the best because the others #1- Stonetree - was a total bore #3- Reese totally screwed up everything. |

My favourite captain would have to be Captain Picard. Whoops, wrong captain!
Sorry about that. ;-) Seriously I would have to choose Captian
Stonetree. He was more laid back and didn't take any flack from anybody. Reese,
to me, over reacted a lot and would go off on a tagent too easily. |

I think it is difficult to compare the three captains as they are so very
different, but I do have a softspot for Stonetree, maybe because he was the
first captain , and it was difficult to warm to his replacements in the space
of one season. Having said that though, I feel all three actors did a great job
of the part. |
Sharon Bauman
I liked Capt. Amanda Cohen best. First, I'm a feminist and it's good to see
women in positions of authority. Second, she had a dry sense of humor that is
lacking in the current Capt. Third, she seemed to have a rapport with Nick and
an understanding of crime today. |

One word: Stonetree.
Why? Simple... he was cool... and he seemed like the Captain everyone thinks of
when they think of a Captain. I think I'd want him to be *my* captain if I was
in the Department. Good question though, guys! Au revoir... |
James D Little
STONETREE!!!!!!!! I really don't know why; he was never very good. The man who
played him is a good actor, but only when I've seen him in other things. He
always spoke with a monotone as Stonetree. But I still liked him, maybe it was
because he was the first captain. |
Naomi Engle
Captain Cohen. She seemed to command more respect, plus it was nice to see a woman in a position of authority. Hope I don't sound too sexist. Gary Farmer seemed too easy going sometimes. I think Blu Mankuma is a fine actor but he was given terrible lines in Forever Knight. I remember there was one episode where they were talking about the captain and Nick said: "that's you." I can't imagine him saying that to Cohen. |
