Question:
Do you think Tracy would have been a better
character if she had been brought across?

Missie

I think Tracy would have been a better character if she was brought across because she wouldn't be so damn boring and naive. She needed to spice up her life.

Benedict

No. It is essential that Tracy needs to be the mortal character that she is or was (show canceled). The purpose of having the mortal partner is to pull Nick back to the essence of humanity that Tracy comes to represent. Be honest with you, I believe that the show would have gone on if they pathetically sucumb to the low minded, comerialized powers that be who order the show's demise. Forever Knight was good due to its metaphysical and philosophical concepts.

Tracy would have been a better character if TPTB had used her potential. She did not need to be a vampire. She was fine as an insecure, good-hearted, ambitious detective who was willing to change with her circumstances. I think her relationship with Vachon should have been developed as a counterpoint to Nick and Natalie's relationship. Tracy should have been let in on Nick's secret sooner or later, or else discover it on her own. That would have opened dozens of possibilities and storylines. She and Nat could have become closer friends; she, Nick and Vachon could have worked together on cases (and Vachon's humanity would have been tested more) ... Tracy had the potentional to be a fascinating character, but it left unused.

Ken Kapoor

NO WAY! I'd hate it if it was so! I mean, can you imagine having someone that annoying hanging around for eternity?!!

Jeri E. Friedman

"Tracy the Perky Vampire" just doesn't cut it for me. I can see her in either rhythmic gymnastics, floor exercise or dressage.

And every time I hear the MacDonald's commercial ("You got to be perky. The judges like perky.) I just ROTFL! I get some weird looks from those not brought across.

Julie

Gosh no - everybody can't be a vampire - what fun would that be?

Cousin cp

There is *nothing* they could have done to improve the Tracy character. Take that however you want. She would have made a minnie-mouse of a vampire. If Nicholas is confused at times, it is nothing compared to what Tracy would have been. Better she ended up as she did, an honorable death in the line of duty, with that split second realization that Nick is a vampire. I can imagine her thinking as she died, "Why didn't I see it?"

Karen

No, I don't think it would have been better if Tracey had been brought across. I think she was curious what it would have been like if Javier did do it, though. I think, instead, and I may be addressing an earlier question, it might have made an interesting episode or two if she had known Nick was a vampire and that Nick knew about Vachon.

Sheila A. Coneybeer

NO!!!! For Tracey to be anything, she must be mortal. Just think of what you lose with her being a vampire. The tension between her and Vachon, the need for Nick to continue to play mortal around her, but most the importantly the tension. With her mortal we have the chance to see a mortal/vampire romance develop in two different ways. The way too cautious Nick/Nat pairing with aspirations of mortality for Nick. The somewhat less cautious but wary pairing of Vachon/Tracey dripping with just plain desire at times and frosty at others. If Trace was a vamp, well that emotional byplay would be gone. And I would surely miss it.

Shirley Davis

No. She just doesn't fit the vampire part. I mean come on, she gets sick at the sight of blood.

Ellen Compton

NO!!!!!! Perkiness And Living forever doesn't strike me as a fine pair. Anyway she would probably annoy some vampire so much... Just to say she probably would not live forever. Bye :)

Leslie I. Plummer

No. They can't ALL be vampires!

WHAT WOULD HAVE HELPED TRACY'S CHARACTER?
Tracy would have done better with less "I'm not just commissioner's daughter" stuff unless we saw some of "dad" in the show (i.e. LK spoiler snipped). I don't mean an actor showing up as her dad. The one place we DID see it was in Outside the Lines, when we hear about her dad's sheltering (covering up) for her former cop/childhood friend turned bad guy. More stuff independent from the "commissioner's daughter" intro to her character would have given depth to Tracy.

Tina

NO, NO, NO. Tracy as a vampire? P l e a s e. She's so sweet and sacchariny. Could you imagine her first taste of blood? She'd probably have to brush her teeth afterward, or leave a note saying she was sorry for doing it. No, Tracy was perfect as the perkulating partner to Nick, but never as a vampire. She would probably have re-done the entire Raven in pastels.

Tia Davis

I think would be Barney the Dinosaur, and she would be able to corrupt little children for eternity.

Sorry Perk!!

Better Luck Next Time!!

(Hahaha. Veeeery funny, Tia! :)

Naomi Engle

I found Tracy extremely irritating. I really don't think it would make any difference whether or not she was a vampire. Can you imagine a perky vampire?

Jessie

I never liked the concept of Tracy's character. Natalie is enough of an ongoing "relationship", with weekly quest romances thrown in. That whole thing with Vashon was badly handled and reminds me of the Dallas season that was a bad dream.

Nicole Nelson-Hicks

What? An eternal Barney? The woman looked stupid holding a gun much less being equipped with a set of fangs. The character of Tracey was what is was I don't think immortality would've deepened the character one bit. She was a cute perky airhead; Vachon was a sexy vampire airhead. See the connection?

Lisa

Oh, God, no! The problem with Tracy was that she was a poorly conceived and written character. Making her a vampire would have just made her a poorly written and conceived vampire instead of a mortal.

Shayna

Yes, just think, forever perky. Nick would regret it and Lacroix would laugh in the brickhead's face!!!!!!! :):):):) and then Tracy would be on a permanent sugar/caffine high! God help us all.

P.S. cousins rule

Ellen, Monica and Jacqueline

Yes, because Tracy would finaly have a reason to tell (hit on) Vachon that she loves him (While he was alive of course). Besides I would have another friend to play with.

(So would I)

(So would I)

WILL YOU ALL JUST SHUT UP!!!!! :) :) :)

Lisa B.

No way! She could barely handle being a homicide cop. I just can't see her drinking blood for the rest of her life. Besides, what would her daddy the commissioner say?

Nyx Fixx

Hard to discuss without taking the events of "Last Knight" into account... nevertheless, I'll attempt it.

Tracy is a character already heavily burdened with adjustment issues. She's resolving her parent/child relationships, while adjusting to a fairly new assignment within the police force, while adjusting to a wildly altered version of reality itself, thanks to Vauchon. It seems a bit unkind to bring her across and throw yet another profound adjustment issue at her, but there's no doubt it would be interesting.

However, Tracy seems extremely similar to the mortal version of Nick. Idealistic, somewhat naive, inherently moral, even a sort of modern day knight in her choice of profession. Given 800 years of experience, she would probably be very much like Nick is now. And we've already seen him develop over three seasons.

It would be more interesting, I think, to send Natalie, the devoutly rational 20th century scientist, on such a journey. Besides, the vampire community in FK is apparently lacking in technically educated professionals. Nat's post-modern rationalism and medical training would be a valuable addition and an interesting conflict, since all the vamps in FK seem to have swallowed the "mystique" of their condition whole. They regard themselves as supernatural creatures. Dr. Lambert would have zero tolerance for such superstitious cobwebs.

Laura Wiborg

Do you think Tracy would have been a better character if she had been brought across? Well my sister and I think that she should stay Mortal. Well I can not think of anything else By BY.
