Question:
What's your favorite item in Nick's loft and why?

-------

Iona

The piano.

Bradley Paranial

The piano. Defenitly.

Michelle Bischof

One item? Just one single item out of that entire wonderful apartment of his? Does Nick count? *G* Well, if I could only choose one thing, I would probably take the big screen TV. Can you imagine watching FK on that? My sister would no doubt take the piano. She's always wanted a grand piano.

Jessica Roop

The cross that Joan of Arc gave him. I think it really symbolizes the struggle for his mortality that he has had for the past 800 years. It also shows that in all of the darkness, he has had some light.

Nancy J. Giese

Well, it's been a long time since I've seen an episode; in fact not since it's last season. (No cable and I don't have time to watch what I've got on video.) I never paid that much attention to the decor of Nick's loft, but I do like the fact it seemed to have a lot of space. The couch looked comfortable. My mother would really love his piano. The kitchen, however, is too small for doing any real cooking.

Lori Dehn

Oh, the torment. I could say Janette's portrait, and of course, there is the black buddha, and then there is that curiously coiled dragon over the fireplace. I know I can say that the evil and unholy walking stick is my least favorite! I think Nick's original artwork would have to be my favorite. Everything else is a reminder of where he has been, what he has done, and people that he has known, but the artwork is a reflection of Nick himself.

Danielle G

The big sun above the door is cool! Love the Fireplace with the carved figures.

Reva

It's a tie. My favorites are the sun clock and the sun painting. I think they represent what Nick wants and misses so much but can never attain. Is he trying to punish himself by surrounding himself with images of what he has lost? Or do they propel him forward in his quest for mortality. Interesting how two such inanimate objects can represent so much. Of course I also like his black silk sheets but for entirely different reasons. :)

Oh, I really like a lot of the stuff in Nick's place. The wall of glass bricks, the mantlepiece, the mysterious night blooming cactus. But my favorite is that ghastly painting above the 'fridge. That thing is so unbelievably awful it makes me laugh every time I see it. And it makes me ask all sorts of questions.

Where did Nick get such a thing? Did he buy it? How much did he pay? Did he hang it above the fridge to help curb his appetite, the same way some people put photos of very obese individuals on the doors of their refrigerators when trying to lose weight? Did Nick paint it himself, in a photorealist phase of his evolution as a painter? Was it a gift from LC? Is it a picture of anyone we know? Does Nick have ANY pretty paintings in his loft? Has he ever considered hiring a decorator?

Sharon Bauman

I like his grand piano - maybe because I want one, too. But I like it when Nick plays at the piano. It adds a dimension to him that has only been briefly explored - when he made reference to his knowing Beethovan. Most of his other "cultural" references have all been connected to his vampirism and victims [like the episode, Francesca], but not the piano.

The Nightcrawler

His remote control to the window shades because it's really cool!!!!!

Raissa Devereux

My favorite object in Nick's apartment is the hutch/cabinet thing that he kept Janette's portrait in (POM). I've always wondered what else he kept in there.

Luc

Definatly the automatic windows, they shut with a remote control. That's cool, don't like the idea of a elevator going right to your room, but that's okay and the fireplace had a nice medieval touch to it.

MaryJane

Nick!!!! For obvious reasons.

Katherine

The electric shutters. I'd love to have some like that in my house!

K-A

I like the Fire Place. It's the site of the Infomous Kiss in one of my fav FK Episodes ever!!!!!!

Kellity

The Grand Piano, Music is a way of expressing emotion, and Nick does need a way to express his.

Stephanie Sleeth

His remote control blinds. They're very convenient.

Sunhawk

I love the view from what looks like 30 feet up. You can see almost all of the loft and it would probably be in the position of coming out of Nick's bedroom!

Anne Sampson

Ooh, that's tough. Everything combines to reflect Nick's many selves. It's hard to choose one thing. The piano is way up there. It's so sleek and understated, like Nick. But I guess I'm most intrigued by his own artwork. I can imagine him at his most open and vulnerable while painting.

The Doc

The piano..... it gives Nick the opportunity to express his emotions. I also like the remote control fireplace. Wouldn't it be really kewl to have one of those ;)?

Ubu Shope

There is a deep inner struggle between the Black Buddha, the piano, and that sun painting in Nick's bedroom (shown in first season). But, in the end, the piano wins.

Amy Shope

Without a doubt, the picture of the woman screaming above Nick's refrigerator. That's so cool!

Sassy

It would definatly have to be Nick!

Tammy Brokaw

The piano... Nick really gets to let his emotions out on it on occation. Maybe he wouldn't be so tight and over stressed if he turned to his music a little more often?

Yvonne

My favorite item is his piano. I like the episodes in which they allow him to play.

Draven98

Nick's piano. It gives a feel of his past. The piano reminds me of the renaissance. I dunno, maybe it's me but I think Nick likes to hold on to certain memories from his past.

J Martin

Maybe not a permenent resident of the loft but kept somewhere below, the Caddie, I have a big soft spot for those big old American cars, especially the "Things with Wings".

rmccardell

My favorite item is his fireplace. It is sort of midevil and contemperary at the same time.

Highlander49

The spacious refridgerator. No just kidding. The Piano and candleobra. It shows the more romatic side of Mr. Knight.

Dan Cannata

The elevator door. (That's odd, I know, but the way it just hangs open for a sec and then starts to slide closed is dramatic, and pretty cool too.)

Erin

Nick's painting of the sun (the one he fell on in "Ashes to Ashes"). That just says it all.

Shell

Nick's piano. I too play the piano, and I find it to be a very good quality. By playing it, the piano would help Nick relax and get over the anst. And it does look cool in the loft! The motorcycle ain't bad either...

Cameron

My favorite item in Nick's loft has got to be the white marble(?) statue that is either on his piano or on the table behind the couch. It depends on what ep. where its location is in the loft. I don't know why I like it so much, I've just liked it from day one.

Diana

His piano... I like to watch him play it!

Sami Swan Thompson

The "Toscano-type" mantle, absolutely. Second place to that God-awful 60's-style design in his kitchen! {It's above the oven, I think.} It's truly atrocious - I love it!

Mids

That has to be his fireplace. It's so intricate and so beautifully polished. There's something about it that I just love. It really adds character to the loft and I think the little gargoyle is a great touch to it. Fireplaces can be so dull and boring, but this one makes you stand there and want to inspect every square inch of it.

Spellbinder

Piano, It shows saphistication

Lisa Wolters-Broder

Nick's remote -- probably the only one that's more complex than my husband's!

Second favorite: the screaming boy painting near the fridge.

Sandi

My absolute favorite thing has to be Nick. After that, the couch and that wide-screen TV. That would be the perfect setting for kicking back and watching Forever Knight tapes.
