![]() While tracking down a killer who lures women with Valentine cards, the Valentine mood causes weird things to happen between Nicolas, Lacroix and Natalie.
Lacroix, sitting at his microphone, broadcasting over radio, talks about love. Flashback: A young woman looks up to Lacroix, asking him to take her. Back to the present: Lacroix continues to talk about love. Natalie in Nick's loft is listening to Lacroix's show. They joke about Lacroix's mysterious dialogue, talking about how people are changing cause it's near Valentine's day. Natalie suggests increasing the doses of Vitamin A and Nick confesses he hasn't been taking them. Natalie gives him a gift wrapped in red, and when he opens it, a silver pillbox is revealed with the inscription:
Their phones and beepers ring, calling them to the crime scene. Schanke gives the evaluation of the situation. The pair talks about how love can effect the lonely. Nat goes away and Nick, staring at the words "And now you will be mine," flashes back. Flashback: The burning sun is shown. Janette yells for Nicolas to get out of the sun and you can hear Lacroix's cry in pain. They stumble inside an old castle and Nicolas looks around in amazement. Nicolas expresses his desire to see his family, the trio argues until they hear a woman's voice. It is Nicholas' sister, Fleur, awake from rest. She rushes down the stairs and the two embrace and notice each other's differences. Fleur notices Lacroix's scarred face. Nicolas' mother comes down the stairs and the two embrace. He introduces Janette and Lacroix to her, and Mrs. de Brabant then offers a meal. Nicolas refuses, claiming that they need rest. Janette, Nicolas and Nicolas' mother head off. Lacroix starts forward, but getting a dizzy spell suddenly collapses. Fleur, the only one noticing catches him. He states that he needs rest and goes to join Nicolas and Janette. Back to the present: Captain Cohen describes the possible profile of the killer. Schanke starts complaining about how the biggest spending holidays of the year are so close and how women don't know what they want. Nick counteracts saying that women want a man who is not afraid to express his love. Nick goes up to Nat, offering to take her to the car; you see a figure in black coming into view. Lacroix is on the radio again discussing how love can be a misconception of the human mind. A single white rose is in front of him as he speaks. Flashback: You see the stars and the sky and Lacroix sitting beside Fleur as she stairs up in the sky in amazement. He notes that a good book is hard to put down and she states that the heavens are her passion. He responds it is a very old one of his. They notice that Lacroix's burned flesh was quickly healed. He hands her a white rose that accidentally cuts her finger. Lacroix, unable to resist, licks the wound. Janette and Nicolas, who has just come out, notices. Janette holds Nick back, stating that the situation is 'mutual'. Nick states that the world needs Fleur's love. Nicolas interrupts and inviting the two to dinner. Lacroix leads her off and he looks back. The Present: Lacroix continues his monologue to not give your heart. At the police department, Cohen confirms that the killer is the one from Montreal. At the morgue, the three talks about the situation and Schanke leaves quickly to see Myra. Nat leaves for home and Nick instinctively grabs her hand and kisses it. Flashback: Lacroix and Nicolas argue about Fleur and Lacroix's feelings toward her. The Present: Natalie arrives at her apartment and suddenly, Nicolas appears, freaking her out. Standing by the window, the two discuss their relationship. Flashback: Lacroix and Fleur walk out in the garden looking at the stars. The two talk about their forever bond and kiss. The Present: Lacroix is outside looking at the stars, with his emotional pain. He looks through Natalie's window and sees Nick and Nick kiss. Monologue time again! Lacroix talks about the feeling of being alone. At another crime scene, Nat and Nick come in, meet up with Schanke and talk about the situation. Flashback: Fleur is in Lacroix's arms and the two talk about Fleur and how the two can be together forever. Lacroix, bends down to bite Fleur when Nicolas (who's been in the shadows) suddenly forces Lacroix against the wall, revealing the vampire side of both of them. She comes to the conclusion and realizes that the two are vampires. Fleur joins Lacroix and Nicolas looks at the two in anger. The two vampires talk about the preservation of Fleur. The Present: Nick and Nat talk about themselves and when Schanke approaches, Nat suddenly launches back into an evaluation of the murder victim. The two realize that the two women murdered researched at the library. The homicide detectives head to the library and, after a brief struggle, get their man named Stan. (Forgive the rhyming) In the interrogation room, Nick and Nat look through a two-way mirror. Flashback! Nicolas and Lacroix talk about how Lacroix's love is of Fleur's innocence. The Present: Nick and Nat talk about their relationship once again and the two head for home. Meeting with Schanke and Cohen before they leave, Lacroix looks in silent anger at Nick and Nat's visible relationship. When the sun rises up, Nat gets white roses and an invitation to dine at Azure (a very fine restaurant). When Natalie arrives at Azure and sees a very pale stranger, she states she doesn't know him. Lacroix introduces himself and she realizes it's Nick's NightCrawler. He invites her to sit and the two begin their chat. He flatters her and suddenly brings up the subject of love. Meanwhile, Nick attempts to contact Nat without success. He searches at the morgue and finds the white roses. Flashback: Nicolas takes Fleur close to him and hypnotizes her to forget. Lacroix states that he demands retribution when Nicolas falls in love with a mortal one day and Nicolas agrees. The Present: Nick realizes Nat is with Lacroix and flies out to find her. Back at the Azure, the two mix their conservation with Nick. Lacroix talks about how more than mixing minds with mortals can be hazardous to a mortal's health. Nick is flying around. The two talk about a vampire's tolerance and he flatters her about her looks. She states that food is a pleasure of life. And he goes up to her saying that vampires don't have many pleasures to experience. He slowly brushes her hair back, revealing her neck, slowly takes her jacket off for easier access to her neck, putting his hands on her shoulders and moving his hand across her neck while talking about Nat's attraction to Nick's vampire condition. Nick is still flying. Lacroix's fangs and vampire eyes are revealed. He bends down, beside her. Nick is still flying. The two talk about Nick's expression of love. Nat whispers about beautiful things that he said. He acknowledges with a sarcastic happy comment. Lacroix bends down and is pushed away when Nick smashes through the roof. Nicolas, obviously really mad at Lacroix, argues about their agreement, and the love story comes to a halt when Nick states he doesn't love Nat. Lacroix goes off; stating Nick is right and that he will get his retribution someday. Back at the police station, Nat comes up to Nick, stating that she didn't remember anything about the Azure incident. Nick tells her that the two had a good time and that they should do it again someday. Back at CERK, Lacroix's having another monologue about love being gone, with the white rose; he crushes its pedals...
