OK, seriously, my real name is Fr�d�ric Ferland, I'm 21 years old and I live in Quebec, Canada. My first language is French, but I speak English pretty well too.
I was first introduced to the world of computers by a friend way back in 1991. At first, I only used my computer to play games. Then, I began programming with QBasic, the now obsolete computer programming language that used to be included in every copy of DOS. Seeing that I liked programming, I took a few programming classes in high school in order to improve my skills. Finally, I went to college in computer sciences and finished my studies in May 1998.
During all that time, I had a single goal in mind: to one day become a computer game programmer. Well, I have now attained that goal! In June 1998, I was hired by Strategy First, a Montreal-based computer game developer that owns a few studios across Canada and around the world. I work at the Ste-Adele studio in Quebec. As of this writing, we are about to release a game called "Disciples - Sacred Lands", which is a medieval turn-based strategy game. I really love my work and I still can't believe how lucky I was to get such a job straight out of college! What is ironic about all this is that I no longer have time to play computer games... :)
Other than that, some of my favorite activities include going to the movies, reading and... laughing! As for sports, I like to play badminton, and I began mountain climbing last summer. I'm not really good yet, but it is said that practice makes perfect!
